Terms of Service

Welcome to EziBills. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EziBills website and platform (the "Service") operated by EziBills Limited ("we", "us", or "our").

EziBills provides a technology platform that enables users to initiate payments to third parties using credit or debit cards. Payments are securely processed by our licensed payment partner, Airwallex. EziBills does not hold, receive, or control customer funds at any time.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

EziBills enables users to initiate payments to third parties ("Recipients") to New Zealand bank accounts using eligible credit or debit cards through Airwallex’s payment services.

  • Pay a person or business with a New Zealand bank account (subject to these Terms)
  • Use Visa, Mastercard, or American Express credit and debit cards (subject to eligibility)
  • Save payee details for future payments
  • Track your payment history

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a resident of New Zealand or hold a valid New Zealand payment card
  • Have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Have a valid email address

2A. No Financial or Credit Advice

EziBills does not provide financial, credit, or payment advice. You are responsible for determining whether using a credit card to make payments through the Service is appropriate for your circumstances.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password and authentication methods secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or involve suspicious activity.

3A. Account Access and Security

Your EziBills account is personal to you and must not be shared. You must not allow any other person to access or use your account, including by sharing passwords, authentication codes, or login credentials.

You remain responsible for all activity conducted through your account, whether authorised by you or not.

You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access, loss of credentials, or any security breach affecting your account.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe your account has been shared, compromised, or accessed by an unauthorised third party.

You must not use the Service on behalf of another person unless expressly authorised by us in writing.

4. Fees and Charges

A service fee is charged on each payment. The current fee is displayed before you confirm each payment. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

You acknowledge that:

  • Fees are non-refundable once a payment has been processed (except where required by law)
  • Your card issuer may apply additional fees (such as foreign transaction fees or cash advance fees)
  • We may change our fee structure with reasonable notice

5. Payments and Processing

5.1 Payment Processing

When you submit a payment through the Service:

  • Your card will be charged upon confirmation
  • Funds are typically transferred to the Recipient’s bank account within 1–2 business days
  • You will receive confirmation of successful payments

Processing times are estimates only and may vary depending on banking systems, payment network availability, fraud checks, or Airwallex processing.

5.2 Payment Limits

We may apply minimum/maximum payment limits and other controls based on verification status or risk assessment.

5.3 Failed Payments

Payments may fail due to insufficient funds, issuer restrictions, network outages, or fraud prevention measures. You are responsible for ensuring your payment card is valid and has sufficient available credit or funds.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

Once a payment has been submitted and processed:

  • Payments generally cannot be cancelled or reversed through the Service once processed
  • If you made a payment in error, you must contact the Recipient directly to arrange a refund
  • We are not responsible for recovering funds sent to incorrect bank accounts due to information you provide

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service for:

  • Any illegal activity or to facilitate illegal transactions
  • Money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Payments to yourself, your own bank accounts, or accounts you control
  • Payments to related parties (family members, business partners, associated entities) for the primary purpose of earning rewards
  • Manufactured spending, reward arbitrage, or cash-equivalent transactions
  • Any activity that violates applicable laws or payment network rules

Payments must represent genuine commercial or personal obligations between independent parties. We may refuse, delay, or cancel transactions and suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably suspect prohibited activity.

7A. Credit Card Transaction Classification

EziBills submits transactions as standard purchase transactions. However, classification of a transaction (including whether it is treated as a purchase or cash advance) is determined solely by your card issuer. EziBills makes no representation or guarantee regarding how your card issuer will treat any transaction.

7B. Acceptable Use Policy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

You agree to comply with the Acceptable Use Policy at all times when using the Service. Any breach of the Acceptable Use Policy constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your account, transaction refusal, or other enforcement action.

8. Anti-Money Laundering

We may request additional identification, monitor transactions for suspicious activity, and report suspicious activity where required by law.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy.

10. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party providers (including Airwallex). We are not responsible for the actions or omissions of third-party providers, including Airwallex, card networks, card issuers, banks, or recipients.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, payment delays beyond our control, or actions of third parties. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim, except where prohibited by law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where reasonably required for risk, security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
